If Roy Hodgson was asked in confidence why Mark Noble is not being considered for the England squad?
What do you think his answer would be??

It's just baffling why snot dribbling youngsters are being picked with no Prem experience but just on the clubs they play for!

He's extremely unlucky not to have been capped when you consider some of the utter shit that has been.

But at the same time, I'm quite happy he hasn't been, and if you're referring to ALLI as the 'snot dribbling' one, he's a terrific young footballer who deserves his chance.

Probably that he doesn't think he's good enough regardless if the numbers of injuries.

Not saying he's right, but noble will clearly never be called up as long as woy is in charge.

A West Ham fan rang into Talksport and Kelly & Murphy discussed this earlier.

FWIW I don't think Noble is good enough.... on his day he probably is but he's not consistent enough.

Having said that, hasn't Noble been capped at U21 level more than anyone else and captained that side to the last U21 Final that it got to? I think that had he been developed more as an international player he would have come on as a player and been an asset to the national side.... seems to be a good captain.

I think he'd say "he's not good enough"

I agree with Griff. He should have got a cap or two for sure, but in reality, probably isn't quite good enough.

Plays at a higher standard now most weeks anyway.

yard of pace too slow, and half a yard in the mind.
makes poor decisions, gives the ball away too often in bad areas.

Re: If Roy Hodgson was asked in confidence why Mark Noble is not being considered for the England squad?
Woy was hammered for picking Alli, but he was outstanding for the first hour at Arsenal the other day.

Woy was also hammered on here for picking Jamie Vardy at the end of last season, and what he's done this season is simply outstanding.

Perhaps Woy isn't such a bad coach after all.

FWIW, I think Tomkins is unlucky not to get the nod based on the last 18 months. Not that he would be a starter, but in an around the squad perhaps.

I don't mind Noble, but I do think Shelvey is a better footballer, and rightly deserves a chance. Noble maybe should have had a call up, even if he remained uncapped, but I don't think he's good enough for a regular place.

Lack of pace would be far less of an issue in international football.
It's pedestrian, at best.

Premier League football is far better than international football anyway, so he should be pretty happy playing week in week out for a top 6 side.

I think Tomkins is much more deserving of a call up than noble

And that is exactly why he should lose his West Ham place when Song back

I reckon that Tomkins is nearer the England squad than Noble. Noble is a grafter and had he opted for Ireland he might be a regular in their team.

Re: If Roy Hodgson was asked in confidence why Mark Noble is not being considered for the England squad?
I think he should have been given a go in the build up to the last world cup or Euros. There are technically -better- English center-midfielders around, but forcing the 'best' players into a team out of position or forcing a formation does not work (see Lampard & Gerrard).

I don't think there's a great deal of difference between Christoph Kramer and Noble, and one of them has a world cup medal.

Noble should just go to Ireland now

I think noble is not quite athletic enough but I think he is a better footballer than many who have been called up infront of him. Think he should have been given a chance to show what he can or cant do. As people have said Tomkins deserves the chance too.

Re: If Roy Hodgson was asked in confidence why Mark Noble is not being considered for the England squad?
Does Noble do anything better that any of the current squad cant do - NO

Over the years maybe a tad aggreved but currently Dier, Alli are both ahead of him. Shelvey is the one maybe he could shift but i think his passing ability has him in which is needed in the international game

I cant see that dier is a better footballer than noble tbh

English players look better playing for their clubs as they have better, I.e. foreign players alongside them. Take the foreign players away and you can see how bad the England team are who were thoroughly exposed by Spain the other night.
Noble looks exposed at times playing for his club, so god knows how he would fare at international level.
